Early April marked a highly active period for Argentina and Panama, as both countries seek to leverage their export potential.
The first step toward this objective, according to Argentina’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, was formalized through the signing of a “Terms of Reference” document in Buenos Aires. This instrument will serve as the basis for launching negotiations aimed at establishing a bilateral trade agreement. Through this initiative, the Argentine government aims to reinforce its commitment to an active trade policy that promotes market expansion and job creation.
Argentina’s main goal is to increase its exports by approximately 20% by facilitating the entry of Argentine companies into new markets, recognizing Panama’s potential as a strategic trade partner.
Additionally, according to media outlets including Ecotv Panamá and Portal Portuario, Central American countries following their incorporation into MERCOSUR aim to position themselves as a regional trade platform, strengthen economic integration, and promote investment opportunities.
